Jeremy D. Silverman is an award-winning songwriter, composer, arranger, and musical director, with music that spans genres from choral/orchestral to pop/rock to musical theatre. His professional experience includes music for film, television, theme parks, radio, and theatre. His choral works have been performed all over the United States, and his pop music has been heard around the world. As a professional keyboardist and vocalist, Mr. Silverman has performed with bands, orchestras, and ensembles the world-over, as well as produce and play on numerous studio sessions and recordings. He is published by Colla Voce, Inc., and MusicSpoke. In 2014, Jeremy made his piano performance debut at Carnegie Hall, New York City. Jeremy enjoys working in many musical styles and is a proud member of both The Recording Academy (GRAMMYs) and ASCAP.
Jeremy has been performing on- and off-stage since he was 5 years old, composing his first selections in high school, eventually winning the Florida Vocal Association Composition Competition with "O Magnum Mysterium." Continuing his education, Jeremy received a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of South Florida, in the studio of Annetta Y. Monroe. He also received a Masters of Music in choral/orchestral conducting under the baton of Maestro Robert Summer. Jeremy’s initial interest in scoring music for film and television led him to the commercial music scene, and his virtuosity on the piano and vocal skills made Jeremy a frequent session player at major studios across Florida. One of Jeremy's first big assignments was arranging two Christmas carols for the world-renowned Empire Brass and Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. These arrangements received tremendous praise and quickly became published and performed by choirs around the world.
While continuing his musical journey he collaborated with a wide selection of artists in diverse ways. Here are some notable artist collaborations: Jon Secada, Katharine McPhee, Sarah Brightman, Patrick Wilson, Ann Reinking, Meg Aruffo, Elizabeth McLaughlin, Belinda Womack, Lindsey Graham, Corey Lista, Amanda Mason, and many more. Whether songwriting, arranging, producing, performing, directing, or coaching, Jeremy enjoys it all!
Because of his love and passion for musical theatre, Jeremy has shifted his focus from commercial music production to musical theatre almost full-time. He is currently a freelance Music Director and Director, working for theatre companies large and small. Based in Tampa, Florida, he travels frequently and enjoys working with diverse organizations around the United States. In addition, he is MD at the University of South Florida School of Theatre and Dance in Tampa, FL.
Quite by accident, Jeremy has developed a reputation for being the musical theatre "problem eliminator!" Because of his vocal/keyboard skillset, positive communication abilities, and fun personality, he is often called upon at the last minute by theatre companies and other organizations looking to fix issues with their production. Whether it be small obstacles or significant problems, Mr. Silverman enjoys collaborating with the production team to make each production a smashing success.
Mr. Silverman loves music, theatre, and collaboration, and is always excited about future endeavors!
P.S. Jeremy doesn’t like social media, but does have an Instagram, as “that’s what people do…hahah!”:
